
This year’s symposium will be held at the Property Owners Club Hall on Johnson’s Island on Saturday, May 19, 2012. During the Civil War, Johnson’s Island was Ohio’s POW camp for Confederate Officers, many of whom were Freemasons. Registration will start 9 am, and the presentations will begin at 10 am. Lunch will cost $5.00.

Directions for crossing over onto Johnson’s Island
Take State Route 2 from the East or West to Exit 125 A&B (Lakeside Marblehead exit). Follow signs to Bayshore Rd. Exit 125B, and travel south 0.2 miles. Turn left (east) at stop sign and follow Bayshore Road (it winds a little as it follows the shoreline of Sandusky Bay) for 5.7 miles to Gaydos Road. Gaydos Road takes you on to the Johnson’s Island by a toll bridge ($2.00 per car).
Follow the causeway south onto Johnson’s Island. At the stop sign, continue straight ahead. The cemetery and clubhouse are on the left about ¼ mile south of the stop sign.
