1919 – Isaac M. Kinsey Sr.

M. W. Brother Kinsey was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, November 3, 1860, and received his education in the schools of that city. His early business training was with his father in the manufacturing business. In 1894 he went to Dayton and engaged in the manufacture of stoves and sheet and metal goods, and subsequently the Kinsey Manufacturing Company was organized for the manufacture of automobile accessories. In 1909, Brother Kinsey removed to Toledo and became Vice-President of the Willys-Overland Co.

In his early business life in Cincinnati, Brother Kinsey married Miss Katherine Menzies of that city. To this marriage two sons and three daughters were born.

He was active in all civic affairs in Toledo, serving as first President of the Toledo Commerce Club and also as President of the Board of Education, the Toledo Rotary Club, and the Toledo Automobile Club.

M. W. Brother Kinsey was initiated in Dayton Lodge, No. 147, Dayton, Ohio, February 13, 1896, passed March 12, 1896, and raised March 26, 1896. He filled all the chairs and served as Worshipful Master in the year 1900. He was a charter member and first Worshipful Master of Barton Smith Lodge, No. 613, Toledo, Ohio, in 1911.

He was made a Mark Master in Unity Chapter, No. 15, Dayton, Ohio, May 7, 1896; Past Master May 21, 1896; Most Excellent Master May 21, 1896, and Royal Arch Mason May 25, 1896.

He was made a Royal Master, Select Master, and Super Excellent Master in Reese Council No. 9, Dayton, Ohio, June 5, 1896.

He was made a Knight Templar in Reed Commandery, No.6, Dayton, Ohio, July 7, 1896, and-elected Eminent Commander in 1904.

In the Scottish Rite he received the degrees in Gabriel Lodge of Perfection November 19, 1896; Miami Council, Princes of Jerusalem, November 20, 1896; Dayton Chapter, Rose Croix, November 20, 1896, and in Ohio Consistory, Cincinnati, Ohio, he became a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret, February 25, 1897.

Was a charter member of Dayton Consistory, Dayton, Ohio, November 2, 1907. He served as Most Wise Master, Dayton Chapter, Rose Croix, 1904-5.

Crowned 33°, Honorary Member Supreme Council, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, in Boston, Mass., September 21, 1909.

In the Grand Lodge he served as District Lecturer in both the Second and Eleventh Districts, and in 1915 was elected Junior Grand Warden, serving successively as Senior Grand Warden and Deputy Grand Master and was elected Grand Master at the session of 1918.

M. W. Brother Kinsey’s death occurred at Winter Haven, Florida, Thursday December 20, 1923. His remains were conveyed to his home city, Toledo, Ohio and funeral services were held on Monday December 24, 1923, His body was interred in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Section 25, Lot 35, Toledo, Ohio.
